It's close, not perfect. The domes are a little different on the real one and tender water tank should be taller. For many the Model Power tender body is better. The best answer would be to shorten a USRA standard tender body to fit the short USRA frame by sectioning it behind the coal bunker and shortening the length at the tank.

 It makes a good stand in. B&O had lot's of 4-6-0's but none of them are spot on. Most of the modernized loco's are larger than the Bachmann model.

There were a few high drivered 4-6-0's that match the boiler pretty good. I've been thinking about what it would take to swap to larger drivers. There is enough spacing between them to go to at least 65-70" drivers I think by blinding the middle driver. Just need to rebuilt the pilot and update the tender connection.

For me it's "good enough". I did the same with the tender, but I want to rewire the decoder. Now that I am thinking about it, may make it a Baltimore and York. Decisions...decisions!

Forgot to post this picture this weekend, but seusscaboose allowed me to get my Seaboard System and L&N locomotives out of storage and stretch their legs on his layout last Friday.  Here they are in a warp of the space-time continuum on the approach to Bellevue Yard with a local (Train No. 13, if I remember correctly).

P.S. It occurred to me while typing this post that these SBD locomotives are the very models that were pictured in Lee's article in the most recent issue of N Scale Magazine.  I still appreciate that, Lee!

no worries dave....   that pic just shows i need to finish off the ballast there in the corner underneath the fast-clock..   which works splendidly by the way ;)
