Love my new BLMA Gons, But...

They all have the same scale code! Like both of my CR ones were painted in Hollidaysburg in June of 1979. Puh-lease, what an amateur operation...

lol.

In all seriousness, the cars are beautiful. I'll be adding more to the roster over time, but I'm only starting out with 2.

I just wish these were around into the 90's to justify the purchase.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Turn the clock back to 79 and you can have a CR one, PC ones, and even PRR (if Craig does the PK scheme)!

The MOW GE51D's that Conrail ran in the 90's had the first four panels painted yellow, so you don't even have to remove with numbers!   Just paint and number.  I model when these cars were in revenue service, so I am just trying to renumber some and strip and repaint more Conrail.  My goal is two dozen Conrail cars.  I model Conrail in and around Pittsburgh which means the steel industry, and the cars to support it.  Ed touches on what is so maddening about Conrail, shop dates.  For Conrail's first five years of existance, they repained most of the predecesor's older (built in the 1950's) 52 and 65 foot gondolas.  Therefore, shop dates could run the gamit of 1976 to 1981.  Worse yet, stencil placement changed subtly after 1976.  I have photos of G31 class gondolas in which the COTS and IL CUFT data are on different car panels depending on the shop date.  Again, maddening but interesting.  I am grateful Craig chose Conrail for his second release, and I have and will continue to purchase the Conrail, PC and PRR versions of this car (bring on the EL's too).  I keep stock piling PRR cars in case I change eras to the summer of 1957.  Maybe I need to do that two era thing like Bryan and Dave.  Thanks.

I picked up one of these gondola cars to use as a donated museum piece on my Norfolk Southern/Conrail's middle division layout. I love the work that BLMA has done with it, but I will have to say its a wrong era car for my fleet.

What #'s were these reassigned to in MWM service? I'm having difficulty finding photos.

Disregard.
Found them as G31B's renumbered into 780XX cars in MOW gray, formerly PRR 371950-373949. Gonna suck to have to strip some of these cars, unless someone can find me some yellow end ones!

Ed, now's a good time to add some more... If you hadn't seen it already, Kleins is blowing them out at $11.99 per car....
