What type Gondola should we get next?

Now that we have the excellent BLMA 70 ton gondola, What prototype would you like to see next? I was thinking it would be nice to get an accurate 60's/70's 100 ton fixed end gondola that could be used for coil steel service. I seen a drawing of a Bethlhem steel car on the Fallen flags site under P&LE, it's a 15 panel car. I'm trying to put together an all gondola train and would like to see a few more gons come to the market. Hopefully BLMA will do some B&O and C&O 70 tonners soon.

Anything not road specific, ran in the mid-60's and and is 52'6".

There is such a dearth of gons and flats, anything would be welcome.  I would lean towards another riveted car since the welded cars can at least be attempted for a scratch build.  And it would be nice if the next drop end car had ends that dropped.  Not having this eliminates a lot of loads that these cars would carry.

A generic war emergency gon of the proper length might have the largest audience.


edit: I'll add that welded gondolas can also be RP'ed easier.  I started a drawing for a Pullman car, and without the rivets, it goes pretty easy.

I agree it should be riveted as the welded are an easy scratchbuild I'm going to build some Thrall railgons (I measured one of these and a few other cars that were set out on a siding and drew them in CAD) these are easy as the ends can be done with strip styrene, I also have a former NYC gon from the sixities drawn up it is welded but the ends are stamped dreadnaught ends which might be difficult but the rest of the car is fairly easy to build.

I like Chris's recommendation and would also like to see an USRA 40' 8-post gondola or clone, like those used by NYC and C&NW. These are early 20th century original builds but lasted into the 60s and 70s through rebuilding programs. Atlas's model has run its course and we need a short gon with finer details like it. Oh, a low-side would be nice too, like those used by the Seaboard, ACL, Southern and original NS.

I like the idea of low sided gons as used in the South.  Anyone for some pine stumps to go in them.

The ends are separate on the BLMA car... however they are glued in.  Stick it in the freezer and pop the glue bond.

Just waiting on more era appropriate schemes.  I'll probably get a Shadow Keystone PRR  now that they are out, or I could wait for the plain Keystone.  I should have passed on the black Wabash and waited for the brown with the flags, but could resist getting at least one when they were released.  Really I just want to get rid of all my MTL cars there are supposed to be 52'6".  So I need a lot of different type of gondolas.

PRR GRa gon - a very early gon that was was basically a flat car with steel stakes permanently attached and low wood sides.  Many survived at least through PC, maybe Conrail in MOW service.

I'd like to see the Exactrail Greenville gons, but any 60's-80's gon would be fine by me.
