oh how I have been waiting for today....Tuesday, I followed the local south of Main St (east end) between Grant and V.I.P. Blvd. Normally a pair of GP40-2's are handling this turn, but today we had a Ex SSW 7272 in Borg Yellow and a GP38-2, ex Conrail 7735, now GMTX 2861. I really wish that they were still in original paint

As the local passed, I really could not believe my own eyes, there it was, a Southern Pacific C-50-9, the last class of new Southern Pacific Cabeese built in 1980. This caboose is showing her age, and the numbers are long gone, but still, there she is, a real caboose, here in Casa Grande!

Charlie,
I just saw this caboose get dragged through the Fostoria diamond behind 2 CSX locos, attached to a tank car and a covered hopper.

The KLR (CP) Havelock Turn negotiating the S-curve at Myrtle Station... a shot I've long wanted to get:

Same train passing though a meadow full of late summer flowering weeds:

Not sure if I've posted this one before, but a CEFX AC4400 leading an ex BNSF pumpkin on a CP WB. A good number of the CEFX AC4400's have apparently had their leases bought out by CP:

Thanks! Tough to shoot with two westbounds per week... and one passes around noon, so the light is only good on the Friday train, but only in the summer. Throw in the ever present clouds and you have a nice recipe for frustration  ;)

Agreed!
I moved into my freshman dorm today at Bennington, but celebrated the close to my last high school summer by chasing the combined PAR/NS business train from Gardner Mass to Glenville NY.

Haven't posted any pictures in here, but I've been wanting to go take some for a while now.  I finally tossed a cheap video/still camera in my car the other day.   Track maintance shut down CN's access to their branch line for two days which led to the switch job heading out late.  I took one pic real quick and watched them for 10 minutes or so before I had to go.  Thought maybe a future model project:

They're calling for 8-10" of liquid sunshine in my area due to Irene...  Hopefully the Maryland and Delaware won't look like this on Monday.

This was from a substantial rain event back in '05 up around Williamsburg, MD where a culvert gave way after the creek dammed up against the roadbed.
