MTL Weathered Cars - Suggestion

Hey, not a complaint, just a suggestion for Shipsure... Perhaps others can support or refute it.

The weathered cars are getting better and better looking - with one exception...  I've been trainwatching a long time and you just don't see cars with their reporting marks deliberately painted out - and nothing added in their place.  I suspect some tecnique is being used here with masks to do the weathering - but if you can do grafitti - you can put new reporting marks over.

Honestly, I think this opens a ton of possibilities for this program, since restencilled "roller jobs" are incredibly common and I am sure there are lots of good MTL candidates...

another question... i haven't looked closely Joe...  so forgive me...

are you weathering the gray marks (ballast dust) that is kicked up between the cars, directly over the rails, during a high speed run?

yup
that's it...

the light gray on the end's of the cars as a result of the ballast kicking up between cars...

i have seen it on early 50's reefers as well...

olny food for thought...  didn't mean to hijack the thread

Its actually a grey car in the middle of a rain/snow storm.

No problem - I'm big believer in letting a discussion go where it goes!!!!

I mean on the Atlas forum they almost have TSA agents going over every post.   ;D

I like some of the weathered cars I have gotten, and would have liked several of the other offerings, like the CN trainset just announced, if they had been purely weathered and not grafittied. I have no interest in grafitti on my models, as I find the real life application extremely disrespectful.
