I don't think tha Mack B is the right choice for that carrier style . Kinda like a white air conditioner unit on a steam cab roof , though the crew would have liked it .

Kit was designed for a Mack-R with a variant for the GHQ PB359 minus the sleeper cab (Ford-9000 in the near future too).

Haha.  Yeah, that was one problem with your kit and the GHQ Peterbilt (well, 'problem' is harsh, as its nothing wrong with either).  Whenever I get around to actually building a layout, and several more of these trucks, I'll have to figure out a better way of routing those pipes out of the way.

The real trucks have that same exact problem too.  Here's the prototype solution.  I just need to take a Xuron to the trailer and replace the exhaust pipe with some styrene.

Most of the real ones out here on the West Coast have the muffler/exhaust below the frame and ahead of the drive tires.

I was reading that this was a big problem in the 1-2 places where autoracks would run on electrified lines (and it's a big problem in Europe today).  The pantographs get carbon scrapings burned off, which fly back and damage the finish on the front cars.

In Europe they always run auto trains with a loco with it's pan up in the front to minimize the problem.

Not just that, but I know the new Opals coming out of the Kaiserslautern Plant have shrink wrapping on the hood, roof and trunks to protect from the same. I will try to get some pictures the next time I am out that way.

Final price was $223.03 !! No wonder I sold out of the 18 units I put in my store this morning. I expect there will be lots of other carriers up on eBay soon.
