Tinkering with the design for NZT's next Z Scale kit, among other things.

Looks like interest is high on the first bus so I started on the next one.  Got roughly 10 hours in, probably another 10 or so to go.

That is the Greyhound scenicruiser I believe.  It would be a nice addition to N scale.  One thing that always intrigued me was what was contained under the rear raised portion.  Believe it or not I rode on Greyhound buses but never one of these.  I know the engine occupied the area behind the rear wheels and baggage was stored on the bottom between the front and rear wheels but was there anything in between the baggage compartment and the passengers above?

Isn't there a bathroom on the lower portion?

Sweet Bryan. Maybe a 1957 Trailways Golden Eagle (Kassbohrer  Setra) Coach down the road? Ooh, bad pun... http://www.flickr.com/photos/tom-margie/3499150096/

I finally got the Benchwork for the 4x8 finished. Tomorrow I'll start in on adding the foam insulation as a subroadbed, though tracklaying will have to wait until my MB Klein order comes. I also got around to weathering a few cars and adding some granite loads (though I'm not set on the color) to a flatcar.

Great pics already, folks.  :-)

One of my favorite things about last week's X2011 West NMRA Nationals in Sacramento, was this
N scale full scale rendition of the UP Cheyenne roundhouse in spring 1959, just before the end
of UP steam.  It's by Buzz Lenander of Albuquerque, NM.  This was awarded Best of Show two years ago at
the UP Historical Society convention.  Has about 140 pieces of locos/rolling stock in pre-designated
positions, this mirrors some well known photos of UP Cheyenne taken at that time:

Buzz stated he started out just to model the Cheyenne coal dock, and then things just kept growing.... :-)

(That's Bob Hamm in blue shirt, he's National NMRA Contest chair, really enjoying this diorama)

Photos from X2011 West can be see at their Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/media/albums/?id=104852949549706

Have a good week, all.

I'm fairly certain it was all baggage space.  The passenger compartment extends roughly to the bottom of the wide band and the luggage hatches were hinged directly below that.

Nice bus.

It's too bad that these can't be offered painted/lettered, even in kit form.  Incredibly I have an option in the States to do it, but it would blow the cost through the roof and then some.

Working on power for a 1950's Olympian Hiawatha. Fresh out of the paint shop is FM Erie-built 21-A. Still need to add most of the grab irons.

My first actual (as opposed to virtual) modelling in a long time:

This is Traincat's Walong (Tehachapi Loop) signal bridge kit, in progress.  Still need to attach the rear bent and get to the walkway and signal bits, and of course paint and weather it.  I heart gusset plates... ;)

Got a little inspired by Jim Six and Tom Johnson this weekend.  I added the Farmers Co-op and Valley Growers elevators to my Sunrise Feed Mill.  Primer is still drying.  May have to wait til later in the week to paint.

Modeling the L&N, well at least a few times a year.

Nice combo David. Jim Six has got me eying elevator groupings too. The mash-up tendencies of them can be addictive.

I completed ballasting on my new Kankakee Station module. Nothing photo-worthy.
