NH Painted F Units Spotted Today.

Hey Folks,
Today on the way home from lunch I spotted 2 New Haven painted F Units dead in tow going by HX tower in Halethorpe.
The train was heading West, but I don't know if it went down the Capitol sub,or the Old Main Line.
Does anyone know what these locos are, where they came from, and where they're going?

I can report tha they are destined for the collection of the Galveston Railroad Museum, after a purported stop in South Carolina for some guts work.  There was a thread on one of my Yahoo Groups about it - I'll poke around and see if I can dig it up.

You did get photos, right?????? ;)

Funny story about these... while I was in Philly, I decided to indulge my nocturnal railfanning itch and sat out until 1:30a waiting for these suckers.

I saw em. No photos for me though. It was fun regardless, but it was odd being there without Sean and Drew.

Gotta love being in the right place at the right time (especially if you have a functioning camera with you).

Back in 2003 or 2004, I was coming home from law school and caught a CSX freight crossing over I-95 in Wilmington, Delaware with what appeared to be a Seaboard F-unit in tow!  I later discovered that it was an ex-Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority FP10 (originally a GM&O F3) that had been foobed up to become a Seaboard unit.  It was real pretty, and I was surprised at how vivid the yellow stripe was in person.  Here it is after delivery to the Gold Coast Museum in Florida:

Unfortunately, more current pics show that the elements have taken their toll on the paint job.  :(

Nope.  The NH F-units are B-B trucked, not B-A1A as FL9s are.

Anyone ever product an FL9 in N?  Much needed loco.  They are kinda like the GG1 and they seemed to be around forever in various paint schemes.

Nope, never done, and it wouldn't make sense unless someone made cars to go with them (which might or might not cause Daniel Leavitt to suffer a coronary).
