I few months back I was leaving work near the CN line in Illinois and saw an odd string of cars coming towards me.  It was complete turnouts laying in the bed of a gon.  They had a string about about 10-15 of these things.  I took some pictures with my phone, not the greatest at all, but you can get the idea.  I thought the same exact thing, atlas switches in a gon!
