Just how oversized are the industrial switchers in N?

I know the Davenport and Plymouth switchers in N are all oversized. But by how much? I am learning to shrink cast, and I woulden't mind a true scale indstrial switcher running around the layout.

My sense is they are all about 40 to 50% oversive.  It was a concession to the motor sizes of the time, but if you cruise the Japanese hobby web sites there are a ton of small motor/truck combos out there now that should make it possible to built them to accurate scale.

Either that or DKS will adapt a pager motor to something Plymouth sized in T scale and we'll all spend a dy drooling.

Minitrix makes a really nice little four wheel industrial locomotive in both DC and DCC that might work for your purposes.  I've looked at them up close and while the cab seems a touch wide they are open and look great.

Without drawings of the real thing it is hard to tell. I'm sure they are wide, but don't look that big.
