$200+ for a Life-Life loco?  And still 2 full days to go.

There was an AB set up just before this one starting at like $30 that I'm not even sure sold at all.  Bidding history shows it's been a number of people bidding and doesn't look fishy.

No idea but the starting price was $19.95 so this looks like just two people going nuts over the model. Is this a rarer model maybe?

I like the fact that the item is described as "unopened," immediately followed by pictures of the locomotive sitting out on the tabletop.

These pop up on the 'Bay all the time, so I doubt it's a rarity thing.   At least I think they do, I don't pay that much attention, but, as I mentioned, I saw an AB set the other day because I thought about buying it just to see if the shell would fit on the Broadway Limited E9A that I've got that is absolutely impossible to strip.  For all I know that set ended up super high too, I wasn't watching it to see.  But I think it was still unbid on heading into the last day.

..........and for a plastic frame LL E-unit, yet.  I see the KCS Es at shows all the time, so it can not be that rare.  Maybe it is someone who does not live in a place where they have many shows or something.  There could be some shilling going on, too.

Still, I do not care how bad I might want one, I would not pay even half of what the top man is bidding.  These go for twenty five bananas at shows all day.  There are even some vendors who sell them for twenty, and, if you look hard enough, you can find them for fifteen, even the KCS units.

            A Zillion years ago Con Cor did a KCS passenger train as a Limited Edition Set. They used their    DL 109 loco painted in KCS colors because it looked the most like KCS early E-6 Diesels. I bought a set and knowing the loco was a Foob, painted two Con Cor E-8 A units to pull my train. I had to use modified HO decals as none were available in N.I was so overjoyed when Life Like did this scheme on their E-8. Con Cor did lots of schemes on their smoothside carsto match the LL locomotives including re-running KCS with improved graphics,(I bought some)this devalued any collecter value my set had. The E-8 in KCS is a very common model, not rare that I know of. Examplesup for bid look factory paint,not home brewed.
