New Bachmann Peter Witt trolley is a winner

Totally different than Bachmann trolleys of the past . Runs smooth , fairly slow , no high speed top end , traverses Kato crossover without hesitation , you can actually hear the wheel noise over the motor gear sound . I only have DC . from the drawing I am guessing 20 to one.

oh, dimensions of the motor?
 I am hoping for smaller than the normal b-mann motor.

No detection of cogging , but because of the lightness the interruptions in continuity will stop it at extremely slow speeds of 10 SMPH or so .

Motor to wheel ratio 18:1.
Motor is .400 wide .
Motor is .660 over outer faces of bearing blocks .
Motor case is .590 long .
Motor is .325 high .
Span of the outer edges of both flywheels is 1.000 .
Flywheel is .138 long .
Flywheel is .275 in diameter .

All above measurements are ( ish ,  + or - something as small as a mile )

the motor is about right for the recent b-mann motors.
I was kinda hoping the motor may be the same as the one in the tenwheeler.

at 10smph, cogging is unlikely, the gearing and flywheel will help there.
I am thinking a truck is not doing the pick-up thing.
we have seen the 44 tonner at those slower speeds.
this guy should get similar slow speeds.

is the decoder causing the higher starts and stops?
My heavy mountain skipped up to 5 smph.

Man that looks nice. Maybe they will redo the PCC trolley or even a Boeing LRV.

As much as we need trolleys like this in N, I can also see that mech being potentially useful for bashing into who knows what kind of interesting locomotive. Load it up with some decent weight, and it might smooth out the slow-speed performance. You've got to hand it to B'mann--they have their faults, obviously, but they are trying to fill some unmet needs.
