white outside,black walkways!!

well,the good thing about this blizzard in the northeast,iv'e been home finally getting around to painting all my conrail loco's walkways black, i did about 10 locos so far!!!! now maybe some layout time is in order ;D

Ouch. Just in time for me to tell you that they were all blue?

However, despite the evidence to the contrary, I've always painted mine black as well for two reasons: 1. It simply looks much better. 2. Even on "clean" locomotives, the walkways always were predominantly dirty, so unless you're modeling something right out of LaGrange or Erie, they should look black.

OUCH... now i'm gonna paint them all blue again!!!! iv'e always painted them black i see this has been an on going debut between conrail fans!!!
BTW...Ed i'm a big fan of your work, i saw the youtube video when you missed railfest at horse shoe curve LOL.hope all you guys had a great holiday, Bigford..we should hang sometime..

Somewhere I have pics standing on the walkway of a SD40-2 a few years ago... they are indeed blue... even dirty you can tell

Glad you didn't mind the first bombshell :-)

Like I said, I know they were painted blue, but if you look at them, most of the time, they're overwhelmingly black.

Also, I'm glad you're a fan. I guess now I have to stop slacking and get back to modeling, eh?
