Google Earth 3D model to line drawings

Does anyone on The Railwire have the software or capability to convert Google Earth 3D model images of buildings into N-scale line drawings?

I need to scratchbuild a line side structure and the 3D model file is available in .skp & .kmz

@Nick Lorusso , I never received any info from @160pennsy , although I realized this thread was ancient (2010) after I PM'd him.

What I asked him was this:  What filetype are the ones he mentions and if he has a file that I can try to load into my CAD system.

Does anyone else know?

I don't know how to obtain them from Google earth myself.

If anyone wants to assis in a test, you can contact me a keystonedetails@gmail.com

I can't figure out how to get files out of this, but here's a test subject I'm interested in:

https://earth.app.goo.gl/4H1ZL

If that link works this is the freight house and yard office for the KCS in baton rouge.  There aren't many photos of it extant, and I have no dimensional data.  But I really want to model it.

Good luck!

I have a hunch this Google Earth/Sketchup (.skp) relationship is not what we think it is. (.kmz is a ZIP'ed Sketchup file.) Here's the help file about viewing a Sketchup 3D model in Earth:

  https://help.sketchup.com/en/article/3000149

Apparently this Earth function is to be able to display your already-executed 3D vector file in the context of an Earth image. What I read is the OP already had an .skp file and was wanting to use the Earth scaling function to reduce the model for N.

But if the user finds a model that  is already there and can be exported, then imported into a CAD tool, it could then be scaled.

Nuts burgers.  I need the opposite.

Are you trying to turn a 3D Skechup file into multiple 2D elevation drawings?
