Can't see the photos as I am not on FB, but I can wait until tomorrow
at Trainfest to see these.  I will probably keep my two brass models, but the JnJ resin ones are probably on their way out. Nice to hear about the new trucks. These rode on two different styles so it will be interesting to see which ones they do. Still need the transfer caboose that they announced 3-4 years ago but this is great news!

In a previous thread he said that his MILW "transfer caboose" is actually going to be the unique bay window on a long frame (with big porches) that they used for coal train service. I think that they only had a couple if the and they only ran with an odd unit train with covers on the coal cars (gons or hoppers) that nobody makes in N. Seems like an odd choice but I will ask him about it today.

I don't know why, but I thought the FV Hiawatha cars had ribs and that the extra coach would work for the two CGW bought second-hand. I recommended he paint them in the CGW scheme on FB, but that was before he pointed out the lack of ribs. Damn poor quality website images make me fill in details that aren't there, wishful thinking gone awry. Now I hope he'll offer them in undec so I can add ribs and paint them up.

On a Milwaukee-related side note, I see they're being offered in the late scheme. Were these rebuilt with ribs eventually or did some non-rib cars continue to run to the end of the Hiawatha?

Not all the cars received the rib treatment. Some remained smooth sided and were painted in the UP yellow and gray scheme.

I spoke with Matt today. He is planning on doing the straight frame trucks at first as seen in the ad. The body style will be the 1935 version as built first followed by the modified version with the oil stove insert. He also mentioned that the transfer caboose is still on his to do list.

Good to know. I'll have to pick a few of those up, for when he finally makes the later Hiawatha.  ;D   I know, wishful thinking... He's gotta make the H10-44 first!!!

I believe that there were only two and that they later went to BN for the same power plant service.  The cabs were built by Thrall and match the gondolas in length so that the car detection system at the power plant they were assigned to could detect the cab without difficulties coming into play.  Things weren't so nich back in the 70s... my how things have changed!!!
