After a year of thinking about it I started tearing out the 14 X 22 loop of G gauge that resides three feet above my N scale layout.  It's going to be a pain and I may wind up ordering the Micro-Mark cantilever ladder thing to reach over wide parts of the layout.  Removal, spackling and painting will consume the next few weeks or probably months.

A before shot which shows how it intrudes--particularly over the city.

Best regards,

Roger

Roger you do have any more pics of your layout?  It looks nice from what you can see in the pic, especially the city skyline.

Worked on my diorama for the new Overhead Crane Gantry for the Walthers Crane. The prototype for the model was a Scrap Dealer in Baltimore right next to the NEC.

I managed to rip all the plywood I had on hand and purchased this week into the small pieces I need for the layout. Hopefully during the week I get some time to miter the right lengths and being assembly next weekend,

played trains (live steam) with my father a few minutes north of York, Pa.

1st, a pic of the family

then, for my NYC homies (there were 10 steam engines there, and too many diesels to count!)

and finally, a little helper service up the hill.  You know how I love the helper service!!!

Mark - Those snow scenes - WOW!!!!!  I'll second Gary - The best I've ever seen.

Bryan - Really fine Erie cab.  Maybe you could finish some of Chris's other projects.   ;D

Got sections hung and lit over the past two weeks.

SNFF 2010 10 31

Happy Halloween, all.

This week's contribution - is posting of some superb
classic N scale F's, updated with some cool kitbashing.

Paul Ingraham of Sunnyvale, Calif, displayed these at the
Sept 2010 NMRA Pacific Coast Region, Coast Division Meet:

That's cool - taking those older models and making them
'modern' in terms of detailing.

There is a bunch of other really cool models (although
not N scale) at the web page for the Sept 2010 Meet:

http://www.pcrnmra.org/coast/contest/Contest_Sept_2010.shtml

Check it out, you'll like what you see.

Enjoy, all!

Nothing major from me this week, just made some more molds and castings.

Bob, that Gantry looks sweet! Now I need to make room for it on the layout!

Your Honor, any more photos of the Downtown area of the city?
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Yes... I'm in N... Also HO and 1:1

Thanks One of One Sixty and Ian.  Here are a few photos of the Chicago Loop area.  The white bridge over the Chicago River in a few of the photos is just a foamcore mock-up.

Best regards,

Roger

Just a few hours of upper deck backdrop painting.   This is the future location of the south end of Taylor yard.

Bitchin' model, Bob! And the perfect size industry for N. I can't wait to get one.

Can't help but wonder if Judge Roger's mind ever wanders to his outstanding layout while sitting a case . It happened to me when I was employed , how can it not happen on the bench during a boring moment ?
