FVM N-scale Hiawatha - Short Video Preview

Ok, so some background is in order here. Matt from FVM surprised us modutrak guys by bringing along a preproduction sample of the n-scale Hiawatha set to the Prototype Modelers Meet where we had our layout setup. Since this was a preproduction version of the set, there are improvements and minor changes that will be coming in the production version. So Matt was hesitant to have us taking detailed photos and video but relented after a bit of torture (we threatened to paint it UP yellow scheme). We didn't plan to do video at the show anyway, so an iPhone had to pinch hit, thus the mediocre video quality.

So here is a little "preview" of the n-scale Hiawatha:

Detail was *very* good on everything and the unit ran smoothly around the layout with no hiccups. The unit he brought didn't have traction tires installed yet, but it still pulled the set around no problem. It got lots of attention at the show and looked good running around the layout. Matt can chime in on the latest in-store arrival dates as I can't keep track of what he had planned. :D

Glad I have one on order because I know they are gonna sell out quick.  Don't even model Milwaukee but that is a thing of beauty.  Only thing I would do is replace the rear coupler on the obs since I think it kinda sticks out like a sore thumb.

That's really nice, and a perfect setting to show it off on.

Congrats to Matt on what looks like a real fine model. We are so fortunate to have manufacturers like him that risk their capital to make us drool.

Can not wait to see what FVM announces next.

Oh my!  I just watched the video and now I need a cigarette and I don't even smoke.

I have been waiting for this engine for over 30 years and figured it would only be available in brass and then that market went away so I figured on never.  I do have two brass sets of the passenger cars by NJ International that I have owned for years--one painted and one bare brass but I'm sure that these cars will far exceed those.

Thanks, Matt for the models and Jamie for the video.  I need to double confirm my reservation.
Best regards,

Roger

It was the highlight of my weekend.  I'm not a Milwaukee Road guy, but I ran it at least a dozen times around the layout.  It really is a thing of beauty and has me seriously considering purchasing a set.  Although we'd have about a dozen #1's running aroung on Modutrak!   ;D

Screw Walthers. Matt, please do the 1952 version too!

Oops, I better take that Wally comment back. Now we need re-releases of the LL E6 and Erie-builts.
