I would counter that there's no way for you to tell that it's NOT a Barber, so Dan can call it whatever he wants.
Yes, you are correct in that no N scale truck actually has sprung friction wedges... however, they should have the casting detail inside the bolster on the side (i.e, the pockets and such), I would hope they do anyway, and that's a dead giveaway.
