That guy is SMALL! I think this is the smallest I've seen. Perfect candidate to make a track-mobile!

That guy looks smaller than the other micro-chassis I've seen but it looks strikingly American to me. Pretty interesting to say the least.

...it looks strikingly American to me.

I'm curious, what makes it look "American"?

Given the wheelbase, this could be what all those "cheater boxcar" guys are looking for!

I'm curious, what makes it look "American"?

It looks like a mine shifter or a very small Davenport/Plymouth of sorts. My main point is that it is very passable as an "American" locomotive compared to all the others of the same variety that I've seen which blatantly look European or Asian.

Has the grill of a Plymouth critter , or a Jeep auto . Looks like it is a close enough American too me as well .

I don't believe somebody actually made a full size one of these .

Well I ordered one . Got to lop off the front right wart , add the usual horn , stack , look into a walkway feasibility , repaint yellow at least .

Not to deflate any of the burgeoning thought balloons popping up here, but bear in mind that the motor is vertical and centered, whereas most of the critters described so far have cabs at one end, or are very low (such as most mine shifters), thus disguising the motor may be an issue. Also, the wheelbase is considerably shorter than that of something like a typical Davenport.

That front right wart would be the belt driven air compressor:

I really doubt these run very well at all.

These have much more reduction:

The Kato locomotive is just about an exact copy of a US Plymouth loco.
