Except one . . . Athearn informed me two weeks ago that my special order of assembled and painted Mack-R extended tractors and extra tires was canceled by Sanda Kan. Even though I had ordered 300 units, they now want 500 as a min.

Well, that sucks...I was planning on picking up a couple of these when you released the combined sets (transport with cab & boggies).  Guess I need to start looking around for "donor" vehicles; I hate to drop $20 for a regular Athearn tractor-trailer set only to tear it apart...

Orange on Blue? I would change that. Orange must go with some other color than blue.

It's fine. Think B&O Timesaver...

Two of my prized possessions. The bottom one came off a car in the Colombian.

Classic Metal Works trailers. You get two double axel trailers for $6 and that is almost the same price Athearn wanted to charge me for just the trailer tires & axels. You could always use a old trailer sitting on the ground somewhere without boggies.

No ideas yet on the Tractor.

Get GHQ to re-run their Peterbilt 359s without the sleeper cabs like they used to, instead of with all the parts attached like they do now, and your kit will fit damn near perfectly.s

Site looks good Bob, cleaner than the last edition.

Hate to disagree but I do think going in HO is a good idea.  I model N so don't start screaming at me.  The biggest market in model railroading is HO, like it or not.  If Bob can sell HO, he can make more money to put into some great N products.

There I said it.

I think the GHQ truck is the way to go. You could have a special run of 150 Peterbilts and 150 Ford L9000. The core frame/cab of the Peterbilt dump and logging truck will work. Both models have the same extended wheelbase of the cab/sleeper without the sleeper cast with the cab as on later tractor models. The Ford L9000 dump truck, garbage truck or cement should provide a good core frame/cab.

For my money, the logging truck is the way to go. Its fairly cheap and includes an extra set of wheels for the trailer.

Now if BOB was looking into purchasing a car line, I have heard that CnC was trying to sell their N scale division which included a Ford L9000, several Chevy trucks and a few vintage 50's vehicles.

Daniel,

C-n-C makes a L8000, not a L9000 and the chassis frame is too short on the Ford tractor. Also, GHQ has begun production on the PB359 again retailing for $14.95.

Oh . . . and HO rollingstock is already being designed. I like some of the dark side too Bryan.

I would love to see the chlorine car in HO for my father.  Otherwise, I don't care.
