15 years ago, who would have guessed we'd be nostalgic for Big Blue on the Curve?

Not blatantly obvious at first glance that they're patched NS units.  I like it.  Thanks for sharing.

When I first got into trains in the late 70's, where I lived it was almost
all CR, with a smattering of Chessie. The few pics I took of CR, I figured
I was wasting my time-who would ever want to look at them down the
road?  :-\ Nope, I'd have never dreamed today we'd be on the hunt for
blue.

Great pic Jeff-I hope to get over to the curve one of these days.

They're not "Crown Victorias"-they're known
as "Police Interceptors"

Don't tell Lee, but I get nostalgic seeing a kitty on the side on cars.

there are still a few B&O covered hoppers in sand service between Hancock and Locust Point - B&O Dome emblem is untouched.  i'll have to keep an eye out for those...

There were some WM speed cars in that service as well...  Haven't seen one in a few years, though.

I have a friend who attended a railroad union convention in Pittsburgh Aug 9-11. He told he photographed a coal train with 3 blue SD50/60's coming off the Mon Line. I'll bet it was the same train. Or was it not a coal train that you saw?

It might be the same train, or another one.

Those SD60is are the units specially assigned for coal trains to the Strawberry Ridge (I think) PP&L power plant.

Note the high cutouts on the plows.

Of the units assigned, a surprisingly high number are all still blue, making for those heavenly scenes that look like 11 years ago.
