....do I need for Micro Train passenger trucks and for recycled Riversossi heavyweight passenger trucks... the .563's are too @$#@@# big.... does anyone know what axle size and what size wheels would be best....

Much appreciated if you can help...............
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

FVM 3601 is for MTL truck frames.  Don't know which axle length is correct for RivaRossi truck frames.

Don't know if this helps but have a look at post #1 (you could even consider post #6) -> http://www.nscale.net/forums/showthread.php?18130-Trucks-(Metal)-Wheel-Sets-Couplers.-A-Little-Info

Drifter,

This blurb needs a little clarification:

<=50 Ton Trucks ride on 28" Wheels

For example, this is a 50 ton truck, and it rides on 33" wheels:

Thanks for the heads up, it’s much appreciated!
I found prototype trucks and wheel diameters hard to research.
Even on model railway forums the subject of trucks and wheel diameters would come up now and then but with no concrete answers.

I suspect that the information was presented as a "rule of thumb" guide. There are always exceptions--for instance, there are 100-ton trucks that have 33-inch wheels.

Because there really aren't an "concrete answers".  There are generalities, and that's it.  No one wishes there were more concrete answers on wheel sizes (and less combinations) than me -- when you manage the production and distribution of wheelsets for the BNSF, you really wish it was as easy as "boxcars get a 36in wheel".

Just about every permutation of wheel/axle/bearing/truck arrangement has been tried and ran at some point, all at varying degrees of success.

Today, while there are 4 sizes of wheels -- 28", 33", 36", and 38", there are actually 7 commonly used wheelset "sizes" depending on axle/bearing installed that change the tonnage rating, and even more than that if you get into the less common sizes and many more than that if you look at various combinations that were tried and didn't catch on.  Those sizes of wheels can be applied to all sorts of trucks, netting about every combination you can think of.

And, for what it's worth, if I were to make a general rule, most of the wheels I see from 50T trucks are 33" Class D.

Thanks for the "insider" info!
I might get back to you with a few more questions (oh oh).
And I'll see if I can get the post changed.
