We stopped by the C&O Heritage Center on our way to Kentucky. A light rain was just ending as we arrived.

Rainbow over the C&O

So what is at the end of the rainbow.....CSX pot of gold.

Bernie (or Robbman), do you if that Gp was the one recently taken out of the museum in Roanoke?

Sorry, I didn't know it was at the COHS HC and don't know the loco's history. It has COHS under the number. Too me it looked like they used the wrong font for the road number on the cab.

Yes, it is the one from the VMT... it will get a new and correct paint job at some point

The yellow stripes on the end of the GP7 don't seem to have the correct radius?  Are there other problems when you say that the unit will receive a correct paint job at some point?

Ignoring that, the picture screams 1960s on the C&O to me with the weathered GP7, the depot, and the rolling, pastoral Virginia countryside.  Love it.  Wish I had been there.
