Progress on Global III

Looks terrific!  Any hints on how you did the sky?

Thanks,
Ed

Oh, Bob.  You're always miserable.  Hot is just icing on the cake!

BTW, I got that U25 frame running with a decoder I had floating around.  You don't happen to have the shell anywhere, do you?

Also, Bryan "Bohn Daddy" "Sirenwerks" stopped by this afternoon for a pleasant visit, and to retrieve his uber camera.  Always good to have drop in.

A bit more progress at the Black River

The prototype.  The round piers were for the old pin linked truss and were incorporated into the rebuild.  I tried to capture that bit of history on the model.

The other half of the section:  Spencer Mills Road and the Coon Creek culverts roughed in.

utility room got redone into Bellevue... and i followed a track plan (if you can believe it)... using C55.

the double track dogbone got flipped to a single track folded dogbone which now occupies 25 minutes on average per loop... I can't wait to have a "Shay Night" and see how long it takes to traverse.

Sunnyside in the middle is being advocated by Karyn whenever i bitch about not having enough yard space (gotta love a supportive spouse).  My big hangup in expansion is losing the functionality of the room.  So i put other projects ahead of it, like C55 conversion, scenery, etc.  I am running out of excuses.  Atlas and our friends overseas are helping me out though.  If Klein's ever gets C55 my excuse goes out the window.

Thanks for asking.

Don't have a shell for you.  Got a need for an under Atlas Trainmaster shell, got one of those.

The BYR's ACME Labs, finished all the paintwork on the 2nd GP-20 sent by the LRV. Tomorrow it'll be receiving the final topcoat and be sent on its way to the LRV.

I also got WiThrottle working and began applying the details to my fourth of July weekend project, the Spectrum 44T...yeah that late.

Hmmm.  Might have to trade that U25 frame for a GP-20 drive!

Lookin' good there, Sparky!

That is a cool little app!  It definitely feels like it needs a little more refinement.  Unfortunately, the app has not seen an update since January and the author's blog has not been updated since February.  I hope he hasn't given up...

Don't forget the deck-mounted ACI label bracket!  This is the early 70s, after all!

Nothing worth showing, but I have been getting stuff done for a change.  Got a Traincat Auto Ramp done minus paint.  Have got an SD70ACe prepped for paint including drilling all the grabs and removing grills and fans, for detail parts after paint), just haven't decided if I want to go ahead and paint this one or get the other one prepped so I can paint them both at once (different schemes).

Spent most of this weekend making chili.  Being a military brat and a railroader, I can call anywhere home (and, in this country, I just about have) but Texas is as close to my real "home" as it gets, and as a Texas, making chili is in my blood. ;)  And I can make a mean chili (both mild and hot).  So about once a year I make some for all the guys who work for me wherever that might be at the time (the desire for chili amongst hard-working individuals seems almost universal).  Right now, that's about 50 railroaders, which means about 100 "normal" people worth of food.  And let me tell ya, that's a LOT of chili to make on your home stovetop.  I can clean a couple grocery stores out of meat, beans, and spices.  And it takes me the better part of a weekend to make it all, as I can only make about 20lbs at a time and I've got to do that several times.  The real fun is trying to re-heat it all the next day with a massive collection of crock-pots, frydaddys, warming dishes. and just about anything else that generates heat.

I've got four boxcar kitbashing projects in various states of completion.  All use old MDC Roundhouse 50 foot boxcar bodies extended to 60 foot and modified to reflect specific  BC Rail prototypes.
