A) this is a foob

B) the era for this scheme (I see COTS boxes)

Not a foob (at least to the level of scrutiny I care about).  Some of these are still around today (or 2006 anyway):

I don't know if the cars date back to the '60s or the '70s, but this is probably the original paint scheme.

I have the SP one, it's not exactly a foob but the number and data don't match up. The number, build date and the car class stencils all state contradictory stuff, IIRC two of the 3 are correct for this car type, but not in concert. Bit sad really, they do the right car in the right scheme and screw the data.
