Probably not until after I start my Sunday/Monday weekend schedule in mid August.  Then it would have to be on a Monday.  Fortunately, I'll be off on all the popular holidays!

sounds like a plan - i'm hoping to have the hashing out all sorted and will start cutting the subroadbed shortly.  on top of that goes homabed and then cork on the main.

Love the PC themed layout David.

To me the PC is a perfect road to model, given the variety of loco's & rolling stock out there that would fit.

In addition the PC did some power-sharing with several roads.

Don't forget the awesome ex-DRG&W Fs too, but I think those lived in Ohio.

Glad you like it. I re-rendered it to more accurately portray how the line along the top and left stack over the hidden trackage. I also added a couple more sidings to give a general feel where things might be embellished.

On another forum there was a discussion about Unitrack, and one fellow was moaning how hard it was to make plans not look like a circle around a Christmas Tree. So I took that as a challenge, and I "Unitracked" the PC plan. While there were obviously some compromises that had to be made, I don't think it's a bad-looking plan.

BTW, blue is the lowest level, purple transitions up to red, and orange transitions up to yellow.

Stick a 10 car run around on the right-most track, starting before the first spur turnout, and leaving enough room at the end for a pair of 4 axle diesels.

Yep.

'Course, that's fixable. Like anything else. IN this case, just refresh the screen.

giggity!  Another elusive curved turnout!

Well, Steve was in town to fix a plug at the Cambridge DNR yard, so he dropped by to inspect the work.  He seems pretty enthusiastic about his design...    I'm thinking we might actually see something come of this one!

Ah yes.  Great story behind those.

I've seen pics showing PC along with CB&Q units... PC with Cotton Belt units... PC with CN units.

Also UP units.  The CB&O run thru trains lasted into BN.  One thing most people don't think about PC is that they ran some real mismash passenger trains.  Mix of PRR, NYC, NH and of course repainted PC along with ex AT&SF, N&W, Rio Grande cars.  Rode one PC train from Harrisburg to Chicago and what a clunker, hours late and I don't think they cleaned the cars since before the merger.  Knew then that it wasn't going to last.

i'm very impressed with Lee's layout - it screams WM now - it's going to have several awesome scenes that you will want to watch for hours.  the viaduct to Thomas is going to be the signature of the line.

as for my plan, it too is rife with the elusive curved turnouts - in staging of all places.  i'm looking at the layout right now envisioning an Alpha Jet with WM power and an N&W cabin on the rear.

Benefits: They ran almost every locomotive. After the bankruptcy, wasn't uncommon to see 5 unit lashups in hopes of getting the train over the road.

Oddly, this seems to be the CSX way most times that I see CSX trains around here (Balt/DC). Very overpowered trains. I figure they must be shuffling power, at least that's my theory.

For example, last night in Ellicott City I saw a freight with 4 big GEs on the head end on the OML.

this is pretty much the plan for the layout, still have a few bits to work out - it's not so much the L&HR as it is the Connellsville extension of the WM.  in 1973.
