N Scale Convention

Ok this bugs the hell out of me ???

Where is the n scale convention reports? No pictures, no products, no finds no nothing... I know some of you out there have laptops with WIFI!

Im kinda sad guys :'(

I would expect some reports on Friday...

Convention schedule was a little different this year due to other committments by the hotel...
Welcome reception, which is normally Wednesay evening was on Tuesday evening.
Thursday (today) was the banquet, which is usually on Saturday night.
Swap-O-Rama, which is when the manufacturers usually show off new stuff, starts at noon on Friday.
The manufacturers breakfast, which is normal Sunday morning, is also tomorrow at 9 AM.
Public show is on Saturday.

I guess I am being impatient. I really hope to see some good new products. If nothing this round, I am sure NMRA or Trainfest will produce what I need.

I understand that attendance is down this year.  I suspect anyone who has been in that part of texas this time of year may have had second thoughts?  Steamy!

I know I'll get flamed for saying it, but the IM SD40-2W looks pretty good except for those cab windows... they are out of proportion to the prototype. If you look at the cabside windows on the proto, the opening is approximately 1/3 the height of the total cabside, while the IM model window opening looks to be about 1/4 the total cabside height... think I need to send an email to Longmont. Other than that, she looks good.

Looks like some interesting stuff is coming. Matt's MLW's look great, MTL has another "hit", and Kato is growing its' list of passenger cars.

IM is IM, and IMO there's not much difference between pre-production and production quality. They've pretty much shown, at least to me, that they don't like to "finish" a modern loco, but have no problem "hyping" it up and charging a premium price.

Looks like the "hobby" is growing strong, even with this wonderful economy.

The NSC NASA stuff is interesting. A few modern FEC modelers should pick them up to model the interchange up near KSC.

I'd be interested in the NASA stuff as well, but I have avoided NSC like the plague.  Anyone know what the chance is those will
go to flea-bay?

Not likely.  But it's possible that BLW and MBK might carry them if they do not sell out immediately.
