Whats the requirements of a "member" with the C&O modules? While I'd like to build a module and have the ability for transport, the requirements for "attendance" could prohibit my involvement. What is the possibility of just building a module and passing it along to the guidon carriers?

We don't have any attendance requirements. We do what we can. We don't have too many set-ups. Usually once a year when we are humming. We tend to shoot for the big shows, usually Hawks Nest or the new event at CF. One of the problems we had at Louisville was the layout was almost too big for just three guys. (Matt was with us for that show but he was not 100 percent, so we had to cover for him.) So it is nice to have all hands present for a show.

Ideally the layout should be expandable to accommodate more modules, but we like curvy and odd shaped modules that sometimes make designs tricky and not expandable in discrete chunks as opposed to continuously expandable (the math-engineer types will know what I mean by this). One of the things I tried to achieve with my Afton redesign was to get the modules back to a linear pattern, even if on the module the track curves all over. This helps with layout design. But a standard 4 foot module or a standard 3 ft corner is always useful.

One could build a module and hand it off, but that is not recommended. Try as we like, people don't take as good a care of "orphan" modules as their own. It's human nature.

Next opportunity to do oNeTrak will probably be at the October Scale Show, which is now Halloween weekend.  The only other set-up BANTRAK has scheduled between now and then is Bedford.

Sure would!  Cyn and I have been working on clearing out her basement as we try to combine all of our personal property from both of our homes in her townhome.  Although I originally thought there would be practically no room for trains in her townhome (ergo, the "peanut"), I may be able to "borrow" a small number of square footage now and build something a little more respectable like a oNeTRAK module or two with turnback loops.

If I do, you can be sure that I'll salvage Chris333's custom-built extreme curved turnout from the peanut, though.  That thing's sweet.

That's what makes it so doable for me as well.  That and, well, the project is just so cool.  What incredible modeling!   Those scenes take me back to my college days when we would take daytrips out of Richmond, heading west into the foothills and mountains of western Virginia.

i was looking at the map today to plan out a trip in late summer/early fall.  looking to camp at Douthat State Park just north of Clifton Forge or in the forest if i can find something not too far from the world.

I may have a get together at my house later this summer to discuss plans and get everyone motivated. We usually have Weekend's at Bernies (WEABs) to build frames etc., (in this case though Bernie is not the dead one.) I am located near National Airport, so I am between Brian (Manassas)  and Jeff (MD)  In the meantime, think about what you'd like to build. I may do the new Waynersboro set.
