Just recieved my Train-worx GT quad door car and it is light blue which is usually how the blue appears on the prototype. But my Intermountain hopper and several of my MTL GT's have dark blue paint ??? There all great models but what is GT blue? is the lightness due to fading?

The fresh paint of the prototype starts out as the darker gray-blue and fades to medium-light blue.

It's pretty rare to see them the same color in 1:1. On our models we have several colors too. When I paint my own stock I use Polly Scale GTW Blue #414358 but it's always a bit darker than what the manufacturers offer on their rolling stock.

Here's one of my old engines done in Polly Scale with some Aristo Craft factory paint.
