Those are both good pieces of news. Although, that's IT for the roadnames for the SD45s?

So... hell did freeze over. The return U30C and C30-7 can only be a short time off. SD45 is of no use to me up here in the snow, but good news for those starving for them... why SP was not done is a little odd, though.

I suppose Kato isn't going to ever do a VIA F40...

Oh my, that announcement is straight out of the suggestion box, no doubt!  I will be in for the Step-Down coaches absolutely!

I am happy about the SD45's....first run doesn't do much for me but eventually I'm sure they'll get to some others that will like Santa Fe YWB.

Kodachrome but not SP?   :-X  That's such a typical Kato decision...

Just think how close we are to be able to recreate such funky classics as this in N:

http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=204446&nseq=29

or this signature scene:

http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=141899&nseq=53
http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=140260&nseq=59

or this screamer:

It would almost be enough to make me want to back-date 40 years...

Duh Ed! Didn't you know that NO SD-45's made it east of this Mississippi?

I mean crap, I'm not expecting SCL ones or something like that, but maybe something a little less esoteric than the BSB, Hustle Muscle and Kodachrome schemes.

I mean, if they needed something "pretty", the CEFX leasers are tough to beat.

Of the 3 F40PH road numbers offered, only the 346 was delivered in time for my 1980 era; the other two were 1981 deliveries.  So I pre-ordered the 346!

This is sweet...  Since my 1956 Pennsy roster includes passenger traffic, it will be awesome to run some Early Amtrak stuff in 1980 as a contrast.  I'm looking at a mixture of Heritage and Amcans in mostly Phase I "pointless arrows."

Hotness.

Think this may be a hint that Amtrak versions of the ElCap cars are not far behind?
