Great suggestions,  everyone.   I'll especially reiterate the lighting and magnification -- you can't work on what you can't see.

Most things have already been covered, I'd just add a dial caliper and soldering station (the Weller is ESD safe, and you can get some pretty fine tips for it.   BTW, I use lead-free solder, tho it costs a lot more and requires a higher temperature).




And don't forget the iPod, with lots of RR sound recordings.....

Oh just few more things:  a cutting mat, flush-cut pliers, Xuron tweezernose pliers, Xuron shear cutter (for photoetched parts), and did anyone mention rail nippers?

Then there is also all the stuff for airbrushing, but that is almost its own topic.
