After leaving the CRBBQ on Saturday I headed to my parents house in the Cumberland Valley of PA.  On Sunday I headed towards Hagerstown trying to get in some railroad shots.  Here's where the old PRR/PC/Conrail Pennroad Tower used to be located:

Looking North towards CP Ship

Looking South towards Chambersburg and Hagerstown

Ex PRR station in Greencastle, now a Boy/Girl Scout headquarters

And for you auto fans, this was across the street from the station being admired by the owner who just restored it

Thanks.  I do have one regret from this weekend.  I wish I had shot some photos of the ex PRR station located near the CRBBQ in Newport.  Mabe next time.  Always like to get these photos before the station disappears.

Bob, I thought I shot one, but it was after we stopped to get some beer, so naturally I left the lens cap on... :P

Action at Enola on 1 May:

Not sure how I feel about this, but as per everything on the SRR, it's hawt:

Getting back to some more pictures from Michigan last year for the Railfest in Owosso. The first full day I was there, Friday, and then again after the Festival on Saturday, I railfanned Durand. It definitly isn't as busy as the days of my Grand Trunk video series, but it at least has more variety now.

1) The historic Grand Trunk Western Railroad station in Durand, Michigan as seen on 25 July 2009.

2) Great Lakes Central Railroad GP35 No. 391 leads a passenger special for the Owosso Trainfest, northbound, on Canadian National's Holly Subdivision in Durand, Michigan on 24 July 2009.

3) Huron & Eastern (ex-Burlington Northern) C30-7 No. 5086 leads Huron & Eastern manifest freight train, 702, southbound from the Saginaw Subdivision onto Canadian National's Flint Subdivision in Durand, Michigan on 24 July 2009.

4) Canadian National (ex-BC Rail) C40-8M No. 4603 is the second locomotive of Canadian National manifest freight, 399, westbound on the Flint Subdivision in Durand, Michigan on 25 July 2009. NOTE: This was my first BC Rail unit

5) Canadian National C44-9W No. 2663 leads Canadian National manifest freight train, 394, eastbound on the Flint Subdivision in Durand, Michigan on 24 July 2009.

6) Canadian National SD70M-2 No. 8009 leads Canadian National manifest freight, 301, westbound on the Flint Subdivision in Durand, Michigan on 25 July 2009.

7) Canadian National SD75I No. 5638 leads Canadian National manifest freight train, 397, westbound on the Flint Subdivision in Durand, Michigan on 24 July 2009.

8) Canadian National Test Track Evaluation System RDC No. 1501 heads south over the diamonds on the Holly Subdivision in Durand, Michigan on 24 July 2009.

Check out my website (listed under the web tag) for railfanning pictures from 32 states, D.C., and Ontario. Current locomotive count: 5772!

Sorry that I'm late to the game, but here we go, my favorite shots from last Saturday (CRHS Rail-B-Q in Newport, Pennsylvania)...

...and Sunday (railfanning in Perryville, Maryland with Ed K. and Dave Vollmer)

Enjoy,
Dave

This was my Saturday morning run at all the usual stops before the arrival of Dr. Vollmer. About 5 different trains pretty good for one day!
