Anyone know of a good place to get 10 conductor 30 AWG multi colored ribbon cable like Digitrax has for their signals? I looking for a cheaper means

I've tried Digikey (way over priced) and Mouser (only have it in 28 AWG) with no luck.

Looking for IDC sockets as well.

Using
30 or 28 matters if you are using IDC connectors?  Since the IDC connectors do all the work and should be compatible with both it seems like too much work to seek out the 30AWG.  Mostly they all are .05 spacing as are the IDC connectors so it seems a wash...

http://www.showmecables.com/Flat-Ribbon-Cable.html used these guys a lot when I spent a lot of time making up custom length 10 conductor cables for early CD-ROM drives.  I tried about five different compression tools before I found a reliable one(most have tons of slop in the joints) that didn't cramp my hands after a couple of uses...

Ian,
Peter S. and myself have found it at an electronics surplus
store in Manchester. The store is just off the Candia Road
exit on I93.
It's almost right across the street from Dunkin Doughnuts.

Ian,

I got my IDC connectors from All Electronics (800-826-5432 ) p/n RCSC-10 for .35 cents apeice. They have 28 AWG ribbon cable 20 conductor (p/n RCBL-20 ) 100 feet for 25.00  We split it into two 10 conductor cables to go to the signal boards. They are pretty good to order from and pretty good delivery time. Also got all my LED's , pushbuttons and resistors from them. Sometimes the guy in Manchestor has the ribbon cable but its hit or miss there, was there 3 weeks ago and nothing, hope this helps.
