Worked some more around CP 80. Added some graffiti decals that I got from Tivo about 6-7 years ago! No comments about no shoes on the bridge, its not done yet!



I also started replacing the upper fascia board with 24" boards. I had 18" boards but I did not like how when standing next to the layout you could easily glance up and see the lighting tubes. 24" boards solved that. 13" is between the upper and lower fascia board.

Don't give up so fast.  Rumor has it that he's using Hot Wheel cars on the streets, and the foreground buildings will be Legos.

I'm assuming the bridge will have a pier between the tracks somewhere, no?  Those beams look a tad skinny to be spanning all that....

Gotta love your comments! haha. Ian, that looks fantastic, I really love the ballast and despite not being completed, you're already managing to capture the "corridor" look of trains running below street level in a city setting.

Looking good!  Two suggestions: 1) that embankment is starting to cry out for some weedy sumac trees to take root and crowd everything else out.  2) Those locos are looking pretty shiny for that setting...  I'm thinking a little rusty grime on the horizontal surfaces would nail it:

Yes there will be one between the mainline (background) and the Lakeland Cutoff (foreground). The span is 110' and the beams should be W40x249 for a single span beam. Mine are about half, so a mid pier should do.

Oh Gary, dont worry they will be getting their full Conrail rustall treatment.

And the scenery is far from done. I get the base ground cover down first and then I work my way back. I am aiming to be in the Tour de Chooch layout tour next year (November 'Oh Eleven) and I want to have base scenery down on the whole layout so that no foam/benchwork is showing.

When finished the embankments along the layout will have this kinda look to them;
