B-Man Amfeet coupler conversion

I just picked up a bunch of the "new" run Amfleets, but mistakenly bought the releases that came with rapido couplers. Has anyone done a MT/Accumate conversion on these? I don't see the Accumate coupler as a part on their website that the newest releases come with.

I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Yes... I'm in N... Also HO and 1:1

This should get you started!   ;D

I don't think they come in anything else other than rapido couplers.
EDIT - whoops they do show knuckle couplers, now that's cool!

Ian,

Bachmann does not use Accumates. The newest stuff either comes with their "dummy knuckle" or most recently their new "mcHenry-like" knuckle.

Ok, its the new McHenry one. I just shot them an email to see if they stock it or plan on it.

They do plan to stock the NEW "Working" Coupler (looks similar to the Mchenry). But IIRC the new Amfleets have a weirdo coupler mount - not sure where Mr Bachmann is going with those cars.

The new coupler will not work with the Amfleets due to their wierdo mounting system.

Why not? They are shipping the Amfleets with them installed on the new releases... I'm assuming they made a version that fits on that replaces that whole swing bar.

No dog in the fight, but there in lies the problem Ian as I've come to expect with Bachmann.

Wonder if they fix the rolling qualities, a Kato P42 that can easily pull 8 Kato Superliner struggles to pull one of this.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

Every inside "bearing truck" I have ran, HO or N has always been this way. I think its pretty much a fact of life until someone decides to make a real bearing for it. To help cut down on it I am looking at adding the Rapido  Easy Peasy lighting  modules instead of the track lit ones, and add a resistor so they are still detected on by the block detector.

The Athearn Bombadier cars run pretty good with a similar truck. Not MT great, but good enough. I agree the easy peasy is the way to go to light this type of car.
