Where are they up? All I see at Athearn is "Photo coming soon". Oh well, the early cars are of definite interest.

I hope the TOFC's trailer paint jobs can pass for <1960 . The BN is a still born though .

May require some searching to see if this type (w/ side rails) TOFC car was in service in the 1970's for BN (has consolidated plate), and I'm not so sure that Southern had these type cars either ....... anyone know, offhand ?

Steven

You're not gonna get a 100pct accurate SOU car unless it is a kit from one of the small guys. But it'll be a fairly inexpensive yet decent stand in. The schemes on all these probably are post-1960.

Those are really nice.

Even though they're 7 years too new, I might bite.

Anyone have pics of the TOFCs?  I'm supposed to get those Athearn e-mails, but more often than not I don't, and when I do, they're late.

Looks like the SP trailer paint jobs are the only <1960 or <1960 ish I would use . Too bad Athearn , my money stays in my wallet .

Thanks.  Been looking for a @1980 short TOFC.  I did notice only the BN car has COTS.  I love the SOU trailer.

Since they're doing suspect schemes, I'd like to see them do CP Rail on the TOFC car.  I have two of the MTL cars in CP Rail that I plan to put side rails on, but these would do as well.  BNSF uses a lot of the CP Rail cars, for whatever reason.

I'm definitely in for as many of the "no-stripes" LPG cars as Athearn makes.
