If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.

Never heard of that store and with only one left, it may be a loooooong time before they finally move it.  Maybe just a fat finger job by a clerk although being between the 3 and 5 still makes you wonder.  Who knows.

It doesn't appear to be their main line of business. It appears someone told them that it is a rare collectible and people will pay that for the last one.  I don't know, but how many runs of the NH loco did Atlas make?  It might we worth that to some NH modeler since they are generally starved for locos in that road name.

It's got to be a mistake - the rest of their MRR items are priced normally...

Could it actually be an "O-scale" model marked as "N"???

I can see that happening, having inadvertantly caused it.  Years ago my grandmother worked in a gift shop near Portola CA and the owners brother passed away with a barn full of stuff.  There was about 15-20 old Rivarossi HO steamers, probably 70s vintage.  Since she had no idea what the were worth I used a copy of Model Railroader and looked up what a new one was currently.  She took those numbers and added about 10%.  I told her that she'd have a hard time moving it at those prices since most of the people coming in there could care less about old models.  Years later they were still sitting there.

To top it all off she didn't even offer any of them to me as "payment."  Would have loved the Big Boy or Challenger

It could be a mistake. I went to the LHS on time and they had an Atlas c55 turnout missmarked $65.00  :-X
