So over the weekend, when I wasn't shoveling snow, I hauled out my well loved and used Testor's Model Master single action internal mix aribrush.  adly, I've let it sit for nearly all of the 4 years I've lived in DC, so it needed a little TLC.  The occasion of its resurrection (aside from not shoveling snow) was the completion of my scratchbuilt shp flatcar (detailed elsewhere).

So I took it apart, cleaned it thoroughly, reassembled it, installed a brand new nozzle assembly, and hooked up the compressor.  As always I decided to start by testing it with water to make sure everything was working ok.

Good thing too - the airbrush runs air through it nicely, but won't pull up any water trhough its syphon tube to save its life.  At first it was bubbling back int othe water - which the Testor's website told me meant my nozzle wasn't in tightly enough.  Solved that and now all it does is pass air at whatever velocity I set it to - still no liquid draw.

So, since my brain is frozen - any suggestions?

You did pretty much all the right things. My only suggestion would be to double check any "O" rings are clean and intact. I don't know that model, I could maybe make other suggestions if you posted a picture?

Good luck

Mine bubbles if it is completely clogged.  Since you have a new nozzle assembly, I would soak the body in orange cleaner for 15 minutes or so.

Just a $0.02 -- Does the jar have any sort of pinhole on the top to let air in?  If that's blocked/clogged, it may create a vacuum that that inhibits the siphon action.

Ed,
There is a pin hole on top - and it is presently clog free.  I've also cleaned the syphon tube, and the neck that runs out the top of the bottle.

Tom,
Good suggestion - I'll have to get some.  Any recommendations?

Ordered a gravity feed color cup from Testors to see if I can get it going that way.

And I put in a bid on this - which is the exact set:

After similar problems with three Testor Aztec airbrushes, I switched to Badger and threw the Testors away.
