I gots me a camera!

... and within an hour, God gave me a train!

Chased it Northbound around Harrington, DE.

Picking up orders at Harrington.  The train kept going north, making me wonder if there wouldn't be a daylight crossing of the C&D Canal via the big lift bridge...  In all my days I've never seen that bridge down in the "functioning" position, and I've always been told it only moves at night...  Alas, I would not be the one to find out, as I had an appointment with a client over in Millington, and had to go transact some commerce (to pay for the camera!)

Next I'll be up in the train room seeing how it works with the little guys...

Great shots. Those "NS" get in your blood.

When I moved to the KC area, I was a DRGW only modeler. It didn't take long to start modeling NS and ATSF "SuperFleets".

I see a lot of local "high hoods" and an occasional "long hood forward" hot shot east out of KCMO.

Thanks for sharing those
A "western modeler" that also runs NS.

I was really surprised to see two high hoods together, and I just noticed looking at the photos, that they are consecutively numbered!

I'd be interested to hear from one of the NS heads on the board about all that gear over the cabs... are these equipped for remote control operation?

Not an NS head, but it sure looks like the remote antennas that I used to see on the BNSF switchers in Seattle's Interbay Yard.

Yup... just zoomed in on the warning labels by the front step on 5239... "Warning! Remote Control Locomotive"

I'm guessing it has a manual override, as the beacons weren't flashing, and there was definitely a crew aboard the lead unit...

Also, I noticed 5240 is sub lettered SOU...  And I dug that it was running long hood forward, the way God intended...

The horn was a tad anemic, though...

Those guys are often in the yard in Seaford being used by the local(s).
