Baltimore Maps 1948

Here they come...  Ginormous files.  I recommend using the Picasa viewer.  Good for zooming and scrolling.

Baltimore Harbor area (same map posted last week, only now in HD!)

Bayview Yard area

http://www.wildcardgraphics.biz/media/baltomap48%20002.jpg
Penn Station, Hillen Terminal, Calvert Street Station, Fulton Jct. and Winans Jct.

http://www.wildcardgraphics.biz/media/baltomap48%20003.jpg
Jones Falls Valley, Northern Central, Ma & Pa

http://www.wildcardgraphics.biz/media/baltomap48%20004.jpg
Union Tunnel, East Baltimore

http://www.wildcardgraphics.biz/media/baltomap48%20005.jpg
Westport, Camden Yards

http://www.wildcardgraphics.biz/media/baltomap48%20006.jpg
Curtis Bay and Fairfield

http://www.wildcardgraphics.biz/media/baltomap48%20007.jpg
Canton Railroad, East Baltimore Waterfront

These are all I have scanned so far.  There's a couple of holes.  Someone who's industrious and has a better photo program than I have might want to consolidate the images into a single map.  Then I'll know what remains to be printed.

Oh, and here's the title block with the color key.

Happy Hunting!

Cool. Do any of the maps include the Catonsville branch?

I'm sure it does, but probably just to a point outside the city line.  I'll see if I can scan the rest of it based on Jason's patch job.  The northeast doesn't really have much, but if you'd like to see it, I'll scan it.

Fascinating ... PRR had a somewhat substantial yard just north of North Ave

Jason,
Will that be a full size pdf when you're done?

This should be all the pieces so far.

If I take off the layers option, it's 39mb.

The Maryland Historical Society has produced the key!  I'm ordering a photo copy of it shortly!  This is a really cool resource to have.  I've asked them if I can scan it to a pdf for my own use...  Hopefully that will expedite them getting it to me.

Great reference material.  Here's a site which I haven't pursued yet but has a ton of maps:

Here's another... the Railroad Map collection at the Maryland Historical Society.  Unfortunately, this is just a list of what they have in their collection, not links to actual maps.
