I made some progress on my flatcar build:

http://therailwire.net/forum/index.php/topic,20111.msg186775.html#msg186775

And started some scenery:

Progress ceased, however, when this happened:

I like the motive power selection for your cover art!  But as you probably know, the WM never got that close to the mill...  The stone train would be dropped off at the PBR yard at Sparrows Point...  Still, it's the thought that counts!

Lee

You're assuming it's the stone train at Sparrows Point. I have photos showing WM power at other mills around the country, probably after the merger. Some may even be in the books. Oh the horror!

Very good. I have some shots that Roger Durfee sent to me. The WM shot may not make the final cut as it is a bit dark.

Been making some evergreens the last couple of days.
I'm using the cut up air filter, spray glue, spray paint
and flocking method. They need some trimming but,
I like them a whole lot more then the WS kits or the cheap pre-mades.

And, if you would like to preorder the book .. click the link at the top menu .. we are shilling for Amazon .. so every book you buy, we get a small percentage .. it pays for the hosting  :)

I spent the weekend putting finishing touches on a Companion Volume to the Kalmbach Steel Mill book. The Kalmbach book will be going to the printers Monday and should be ready by April. The companion volume should be ready in about two weeks. It will be available from my website and Amazon.com.  Here is shot of the cover.

Both of the modeled scenes are N Scale. Here is the cover of the Kalmbach book.

I ordered one also .. I have been looking forward to this book to help me design my steel mill complex on the layout .. Bernie's work is always well researched, and he is going to save me lots of time ..  now if I could just get him to build it for me :)

Amazon is selling  the book for 14 and change. That beats the price I am charging, but I guess you get a autograph when you buy it from my website.

John- I am planning selling the N Scale Blast Furnace. Price will be about $1200. if you are interested. It's the model featured on the cover.

I wish I could .. but I have around 5 SE8's to get for the layout .. be thankful they didn't have CTC in 1864 :)

Have you ever met The Durf? I gotta get him to come back out this way again sometime.

You can click on this, too, but they won't have any books for you:
