I decided that a photo was not good enough for my Sunday update, so I used the opportunity to put together some of the video I had sitting around to create a video update.

Check out the page below on my blog and watch the video for an update on lighting in my train room, where my modules are at, and finally some detail on the module I'm making with the FastTracks fixtures.

I've gotten nothing done for three weeks except fighting off the "creeping crud" upper respiratory infection and bronchitius (not good for an asthmatic!). Did my first DCC install in a Hallmark Brass Santa Fe 4-8-4 2900 class. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, and the good running engine actually runs better on DCC. I'm trying to find a good wire stripper for the tiny decoder wires (30 gauge stranded), but Allied, Mouser, and a couple of other big electronic supplies all have them back-ordered. ???

Worked on my first "mid production" SD40-2 Kato. Wow, the chassis design is really different, and the trucks are too.

It had a truck that acted like a piece of something got in it and made it bind up. Once I figured out how to disassemble it and cleaned it up, I found that it had a few bad teeth in one of the ultra tiny gears.

I ended up ordering a new truck assy because gears aren't available separately. That may be a good move on Katos part as these mid production trucks are very unique in design, and not easily "regeared"
A "western modeler" that also runs NS.

Got a good bit accomplished this week. I finished up the small "yard" I added on the HPT&D. It's for storage of the WSS/HPT&D turns. Found out as we had Ops sessions that there wasn't enough room. If you want to find the holes in your layout plan, just have a couple of Ops sessions. That'll do it.

I also pulled out the turnouts on 2 back to back passing sidings making it 1 long one. Stupid idea from the beginning. While I was there, I finished some of the wooded area.

I was cleaning up from the yard addition on the upper level and went ahead and added some scenery on the lower level below it.

Agreed. :)

I've been experimenting with night photography...

Not sure what kind of engine would make a streak like this, but its a start. Maybe I should get a smaller flashlight...

Thanks Caleb and Richie. Just trying to keep up.

Would that impromptu meeting explain why it was so peaceful and quiet around here this morning?

Nice video.

What type of line did you use for your telephone poles?

Thank you in advance.
