There are times around here, if a mfg listened to all the whining, they may sell 20 or so more units.

Whatev. No company's above reproach. If certain parts of the market feel the need to be vocal about their wants not being met by Atlas or anyone else, then let them. No one sells a product without a need, real or perceived. So if there is a need (like the ones being vocalized) that is devoid of product, then that equals an opportunity, for a manufacturer to sell product, and you can't be against that. Right? It's what keeps manufacturers in business, right? And as long as they're in business they know what's best, right?

Atlas isn't god, especially to the Katoists, so let's not start a jihad here.

No one started anything, so stop attempting to exacerbate the situation by bringing in other unrelated aspects.  The initial statement that Atlas is not releasing new product, based upon this month's one release, is inaccurate.  Nothing more than that.

This just in - "Reuters - A car bomb exploded at the Kato USA headquarters.  Radicalized Atlas militants have claimed responsibility.  Kato militants have vowed to respond in kind, 'This terrible deed will not go unpunished', Katoist leader Tojo stated."

Thank goodness someone picked up on the humor of my post. Geez, I'm an Aspie and take everything literally, but even I thought my statement's logic was so ridiculously circular that most would have laughed it off. Lighten up. Or do some people really believe they know it all?...

You know, we go through this discussion every year...  ::)

...And as Cory has noted several times, the real answer is "Chinese New Year".  Most of the major industries shut down for almost a whole month to allow their workers to travel from their jobs in the city back to their families in the "countryside" (usually the only time they get this opportunity all year).  Chinese New Year starts this year on February 14th and lasts for 15 days; it's a big deal for them, a combination of Christmas, 4th of July and half a dozen other holidays.  Since nothing is going to be produced during that month, Atlas doesn't announce anything (and if they did, you all would complain about the delay between announcement and shipping).  ;D

Who knows, maybe Atlas has been in business to know that in the month after Xmas, sales go way down.

Or in a month when a zillion other exciting projects are announced, that its best to announce and produce a bit later, when other mfgs are slower with releases.

Or maybe, they keep records and whenever unemployment is over 10%, they know sales drop.

Or maybe all the Chinese factories are full with production for others

Etc, Etc. Etc.

My guess is that they know their business pretty well, much better than we do......Nah!

I was thinking that was the case.  And Atlas never seems to make a big announcement in January.
