You experienced the next best thing to riding: railfanning!  I remember seeing you trackside at Perryville from the CRHS Express.  You saw how ugly the SEPTA cars were on the outside.  From the postings you've read, you can imagine how bad it was on the inside.  :D

Figures that Lou would start a thread like this...  

Nomination for the biggest POS would be the MT Bay Window cab and the ever changing delivery date on the Atlas curved turnouts...

A rare mis-step for Atlas. I wonder if these (C40-8W's) will be banished to hell along with the IM SD45-2's?

Speaking of which, I had the trusty old Unitrack oval out the other day testing some recent acquisitions and put a CN SD45T-2 on for a spin... yikes! The TM actually slowed down going through the curves. Wow  :(

The ACR SD40's on the other hand ran flawlessly. Amazing the difference, but not surprising. Yeah, someone is buying the Algoma Central SD40's.

I thought Cory acknowledged there was a problem and Atlas was to fix it on the next run.

For Atlas mis-steps, I gotta reach all the way back to 1986 for the s-t-r-e-t-c-h Geeps (man, those were awful!).

All six of my Atlas CW40-8 are good, better than the Bachman ones I bought ten years ago, but mine are for CSX. The only thing that made me a little upset was the prices.

I probably have to agree with the tamper.  Mine wasn't quite as bad as that, but still not worth the price by a long shot.

Wow, normally I consider myself enough of a 'half full' guy that I wouldn't post.

BUT I'll make an exception!!!

(and even then, this is technically the SPOS - smallest piece of ^%$# - you've likely every worked with)

If you wonder why I never introduced a 25-tonner after a lot of hope, this was it.  Where do you start; 200mph, flanges with sharp  cut edges and no fillet, out of gauge (narrow) poor electrical pickup, and ONE AXLE DRIVE.  Oh, and don't forget expensive.....basically a motor, one truck.

Surrendering and making it into a powered Burro crane only involved having to replace the wheels with Kato and redesign it... and scrap the idea of a 25-tonner kit.  Sigh.  And the crane, even with all that cast metal, isn't capable of moving any more than itself and the pickup flatcar.

True Line Trains "punting" their initial n scale offering - wrong numbers, logo placement, ride height and, oh ya, the door track from hell...............but their fixing it all with release number 2....sigh.

Yeah, the worst part of the whole TLT debacle was the guy running the N scale products stated he would provide correct replacement shell for current owners for $6 each then never followed through. Emails unanswered, call never returned. Voicemail full.

You're kidding... I never followed what happened, since frankly the problems didn't bother me that much.

I was looking at some prototype photos of those cars and I have to ask if the models really have the correct wheelbase?
