The top ride control truck has an awesome texture to it that looks like cast metal.  Both are amazingly free rolling.

Thanks guys!  These were both pre-production samples, so rest assured that production models will feature correct front & back wheel profile and correct bolster hole size.

These should be available sometime in the 1st quarter of 2010.

The bolsters seem to sit pretty low so that should help in lowering some cars that could use that help.

The standalone trucks you can buy will have a standard hole.

Will the wheel sets be available separately from the trucks?  Also, what kind of prices are we looking at.  Do they compare with FVM?

Thanks John!  We've got a great team that works hard to keep standards high and innovation constant.

Daryl:  At some point the wheels will probably be available separately.  The trucks will retail for $5.95 per pair and should easily fit under 99% of rolling stock on the market with no modifications.

Per the BLMA website, they are both ASF Ride Control designs (70T, 100T). I don't know the intro date.

ASF, i.e,  American Steel Foundries, Ride Control is the prototype... I can give you the AAR class and the ASF pattern number from the drawings I used if you want to get REAL specific

Both types came into use in the early 60s (the 70T is a narrow pedestal roller bearing evolution of the plain bearing A3)...

Those FVM wheels look pretty good there...  how does "amazingly free rolling" compare to other trucks?  You sound surprised?
