Talked to Jim Weaver about the Tex Mex GP38's. He said they will be here soon, I should be down for at least 2.

He also mentioned they were interested in doing Tex Mex with the O scale GP60's. I focused on trying to convince him this was a good idea and even offered prototype photos to help.

Sorry for not making a pitch for a N scale GP60, but Tex Mex is so obscure, I can't help but push for a road where I got my only two cab rides when I was a kid. They were a class act, with a good paint scheme.

No self-respecting Santa Fe train over the Tehachapis in the late '60s was without 'em. It's funny/odd that the SF ran the pants off the 'gators over the Loop back then, but SP wouldn't let their Alcos leave the Valley.  :-\

A company you know is seriously working on RS-15's. They have never made an N-scale locomotive, but they have HO's for many years. They aren't a "big name", and don't have unlimited resources, but they plan to be able to make them prototype-specific by design. They haven't done a new N-scale car in some time, either. If your deductions are right or wrong, I can't say further.

Ok, now the RS-15 would be awesome, but what is the status on that Baldwin Centercab Transfer unit. I keep hearing rumors but I heard Charlie Vlk has something to do with it.

The last I remember reading, they were trying to peddle the Cad drawings.

I would possibly change my modeling focus if that engine came and it was true to the unit at IRM.  I couldn't hardly go anywhere growing up without the MNS being close by.  Every morning during first hour we'd get the horn at the Dakota crossing.  We'll actually I'd usually here it at the donut shop down west Lake (except mondays 'cause they were closed).


Just the idea of a Northtown transfer gets me all giddy.
