Warning! Shipping to distributors in Nov.,on shelves in stores very late Nov., early Dec. most likely. I'd LOVE to be wrong, but it usually works the way I mentioned. No knock on Kato; It's just the "delievery system inertia". Buy $$$$$$ worth and get them direct from Kato, sooner. I hope we get them in time for the OKC Train Show. I have held a "pre-production sample" in my grimey little hands....very,very NICE! The one I saw looked more like "metal" than the Super Chief's (which I had no complaints about at all) but the El Cap's may look better, but I didn't have them side-by side to compare. Just my "impression".

What trains were the ATSF full length dome cars on?  If Kato ever did these it would be useful for CR, NS and BNSF business trains...

Big-Domes were on El Capitan (for 2 yrs. before the hi-levels came), Chicagoan/Kansas Cityan, SF Chief. Also used on Auto-Train, in Alaska, and now Colorado on the SL&RG. They've been passed around quite a bit.

It'll be interesting to see if Kato ever does Amtrak schemes on the El Cap cars as well. A Pacific Parlor for the Coast Starlight would be cool. Decals are available for all that, anyway.
