Pre-Production Proofs of Cars

Hi All,

I have the metal etched for the NYC Cabooses and the SP Woodchip Gondola. I just built the first car which is the SP Woodchip. I don't have the laser-cut sides in yet so all you see is the brass frame. Here are a few pics.

Underside detail has got to be seen in person. I was even able to etch the L-girders and rivets into the flooring.

The end shot shows how the layers of metal duplicate the end ribs and you can see how I was able to get actual H-beams for the side trusses and the gusset plates

Comment welcomed.

Wow  That looks amazing!!  Those are gonna be some excellent cars.  How hard is it to do your own etching?  It seems very difficult to do?

Easy to etch yourself. Not easy to etch yourself if you want results like Bob gets.

The SP car looks great.

Does this mean the NYC Caboose is close?

Looking forward to seeing more of it .

Thanks

Bob, I'm a Frisco guy, and run some KATY too. Do you think there is enough interest for their cabeese? I've got tons of photos, and most of their way-cars look like they could be "converted" from the Atlas Wide-Vison. I'm dumb enough I can get a new side and roof/cupoal on an existing model. I'm going nuts waiting for the Athearn Bay-Windows to see what they might be turned into. ???

Now I have the first G22 completed. As you can see, there is detail on both exterior and the interior of the car. As you would expect, the raised rivets have the correct pattern for each of the ribs. This pattern can also be seen on the interior sides. The kit will build a car with prototype ride height.
