Well, it's Kato USA, so I imagine they're familiar with American cultural icons. I find your lack of faith...disturbing...

Also, the page says the car was made in 1928; it doesn't say when it arrived in Hiroshima. Besides, it "enjoys popularity among Hiroshima citizens and railroad fans," which implies that it still exists. I'm guessing Hannover gave the car to Hiroshima after the war.

Following the atomic bombing of the city on Aug. 6, 1945, the streetcar system was among the first of the city’s services to be restored. Service between two stations – Koi and Nishi-tenma-cho – restarted just three days after the bombing, returning some semblance of normalcy – albeit a small one – to the city. The system’s main lines were operational within about two months of the bombing.

A total of four streetcars survived the blast, and two of those street cars – Nos. 651 and 652 – still operated until recently.

If it's aimed for the Japanese n-scale market it will be 1:150, but the proportions will be so good no one here will really notice.
