Cool! More MLW Ribbed Cars! I wish I could have gotten my hands on one of the original release "long rib" version before they sold out. >:( Perhaps it was a short run to test the market? Or did Kirk Reddie buy all they had? (See Observations section of July/August NSR)  ::)

Cool!  I was hoping that the short ribs would be coming out soon. The initial runs seemed like they sold quickly. I went the route of pre-ordering them (from FRTS) and got mine with no problem. I completely understand the objections that people have to pre-ordering, but it you really want something this is the only way. I just ordered 4 of each. Lost in all the excitement of the rib side cars are the really nice Soo Line 7 post cars.

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

The original run was "gone in 60 seconds". I do wish they would redo the "Route of the Hiawathas" single doors. I could use a couple. I will probably get one double door. Good for lumber deliveries.

Yes, Ooooh SOO, indeed. Anyone know if either SOO was around in 1987-89 timeframe?

I wish they'd do the 50' short rib cars too.

I finally found my issue of "The Soo" (Spring 1999) that has the roster and paint schemes of the 7 post boxcars. The BCR version is from 1973, and the White/Red/White Ends version is from 1979.

Best wishes, Dave
